Our hearts blossom

When we live from the state of wakefulness, the oceans know us. We become the sky and the suns and stars rise in our bosoms. Everything we see is so beautiful that we get drunk easily. We never feel lonely because we become one with everything around us. We no longer fear about the future nor worry about the past. No longer can we differentiate the smile of the moon from that of our own, the arm of a tree trunk from our own arms, the face of the sky from our own faces. They all become one when we live with awareness. As we drift away from this state, however, we think the whole universe is conspiring against us. We feel like a gray cloud moving thru the sky. If we are fateful, we turn into the rain and fall and with the falling we taste delicious mouths or we are scattered by the winds and continue to enjoy thousand forms of existence.

This tasting of honey with barefoot, this forgetfulness of our own addresses burns in our eyes and even strangers can recognize us from the crowd. Oh, this drunkenness called Life! This eternal dance! She hypnotizes me with a woman’s smile and makes my mind stop. Some days she beats me with a whip of tenderness and yet what I could feel was the tenderness itself and not the scar left by the whip. There are also some moments when we move through what seems like fire. We either burn or get baked thoroughly. If we get baked, we get new eyes again. Our hearts blossom and our tongues loosen and we come to you and kiss your hands and merge with your heart. If we burn, however, we turn to ashes and come back to you some day in the form of a maple tree in your yard or a freshly cooked blueberry muffin.
