I went by bus today
From my suburban home to downtown Minneapolis
And then to work.
How I loved watching life happening in the bus!
Even though it is still autumn,
Winter’s song is already here and everyone
was attired in warm clothes.
I watched the sea of people leaving the bus at every stop
And new wave of people coming aboard.
The bus said nothing to those who left
And to the ones who came in.
She is never married to anyone nor divorced from anyone.
For those wanted to leave, she kept her doors wide open
For the ones who wanted to come in, her seats were warm and welcoming.
Friends cross our path, stumble on our footprints, pause a little bit
and then enter our heart and mind or we enter theirs.
After a while either they part or we leave.
Story ends there but life continues. Pain of separation continues.
Suffering continues until we learn a true freedom like the bus, the
art of letting go, the wisdom of nonattachment.
