Obstacle
Is a teacher standing on your door
to show you something deeper –
go to a place
that scares you most
and stand in front of yourself
and look at what makes you
small and weak and unworthy –
no matter how doomed
you feel –
no matter how messed up
you are –
the water underneath
is still clear and undisturbed.
take a sip from it and repeat
this one more time -
it will wash down all your
regrets and it is always
possible for you
to wake up to the perfume
of your innocence.
