when you follow camels

When you follow
Camels, they take you to
other camels and then to the desert –
The things you’ve learned to be
true, change slowly and stories
lead to one another and lose
their originality.
Impulses rise and fall
And emotions come and go.
towers collapse with time
and pyramids decay.
Only silence remains
with you.
only your breath remains
closer to you like your dog.
and your inner radiance
keeps coming to your door
to watch over you and
to know if you are
still awake or asleep.
